Practical Nurse Licensure
The NCLEX-PN® (National Council Licensure Examination - Practical Nurse) is a
computer based adaptive test of nursing knowledge and skills for Practical and
Vocational Nursing. Passing the exam is required of candidates for licensure as
a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) by all US
state and territorial Boards of Nursing. The NCLEX-PN® examinations are
administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN).
To ensure public safety, each board of nursing requires a candidate for
licensure to pass the NCLEX-PN® examination for registered nurses. NCLEX-PN®
examinations are designed to test the knowledge, skills and abilities essential
to the safe and effective practice of nursing at the practical level. NCLEX-PN®
examinations are provided in a computerized adaptive testing format and are
presently administered by Pearson VUE in their network of Pearson Professional
Centers. The computerized adaptive method for administering tests merges
computer technology with modern measurement theory to increase the efficiency of
the testing process. For more information, click on FAQ to look at the
frequently asked questions. Examination items are primarily four-option and multiple-choice.
Other types of item formats include multiple response, fill-in-the-blank, hotspot,
drag and drop, and chart/exhibits. All item formats, including standard multiple-choice,
may have charts, tables or graphic images.
Invest in yourself, Prepare with Confidence.
Vipra Med is all you need for your NCLEX-PN® learning and preparation
needs. Vipra Med offers web based online practice exams and learning
for the NCLEX-PN® exams. The NCLEX-PN® examination uses items with a
variety of response formats, such as, single response
multiple-choice, multiple response, fill-in-the-blank, and a variety
of display formats, such as, charts and exhibit displays, tables,
and graphic images. All items are developed and validated using the
expertise of practicing nurses, educators and regulators from
throughout the country. The NCLEX-PN® examination content is revised
based on a practice analysis conducted every three years. The
majority of test items are written at the application or higher
levels of cognition but the exam may include items at all of the
cognitive levels. Most of the questions of the NCLEX-PN® exam are
worded multiple choice questions.
Our strategy is to provide you with challenging questions and
parallel content that will likely appear on the actual test. The
combination of detailed explanations with each question presents an
unrivalled learning experience. The Vipra Med practice NCLEX-PN®
exams will benefit your critical thinking, judgment, and test-taking
skills. The Vipra Med Qbank is designed as a learning tool, and not
for mere assessment of your knowledge. Our NCLEX-PN® Qbanks have been
developed by board certified physicians and Medical Professionals
who bring you the real life experience along with high quality
testing content that parallels and rivals that of the actual exam.
Our Qbanks include drawings, diagrams, schematics and images that may
appear in the 2010 NCLEX-PN® exams. The Vipra NCLEX-PN® tests
have been updated with the latest 2010 version 1.4 content that will
